    A Day in the Life

    • Oversee lab infrastructure across racks, power, cooling touchpoints, and cabling to maintain a reliable test environment.
    • Assemble and administer PC and server platforms, from board-level bring-up through operating system install and configuration.
    • Work confidently across Linux and Windows, performing system setup, package installs, drivers/firmware updates, and BIOS/UEFI configuration.
    • Interpret board schematics and apply PCB assembly skills for hands-on builds and rework as needed.
    • Troubleshoot aggressively at both the hardware and OS layers to isolate faults and resolve issues.
    • Configure basic networking for lab systems and devices to enable dependable connectivity and throughput.
    • Deploy and maintain storage solutions spanning multiple form factors and technologies (e.g., NAS, SAN).
    • Monitor and sequence power supplies to safeguard equipment and validate platform behavior.
    • Document experimental procedures, configurations, and results in a clear, structured format for future reference.

    Core Knowledge and Capabilities

    • Deep understanding of server and workstation hardware architecture.
    • Ability to read and interpret circuit/board schematics.
    • Proven experience setting up and administering PC/server hardware and software.
    • Comfort working in Linux and Windows environments.
    • Strong hardware and operating system debug and troubleshooting abilities.
    • Familiarity with networking setup and configuration.
