Title: Data Center Operations Technician
Locations: Afton, TX
Duration: 06+ Months with Possible Extension.
Pay Range: $20-$23/Hour on W2(All inclusive)

We are seeking a skilled Data Center Technician to support and maintain data center infrastructure, ensuring high availability, reliability, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with computer hardware, Linux systems, networking technologies, troubleshooting, and data center operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain data center operations to ensure maximum service availability and reliability.
• Perform hardware diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement activities.
• Conduct root cause analysis of hardware and software failures.
• Install, assemble, configure, and decommission server and networking equipment.
• Provide technical support to internal data center teams and stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain operational documentation and technical procedures.
• Create and maintain scripts for server and network hardware updates and automation.
• Track and manage hardware inventory and asset records.
• Perform preventive maintenance on test and tool equipment.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule and respond to critical incidents within defined SLAs.
• Travel to other data center locations as required (up to 10%).

Required Skills

• 4-6 years of experience in Data Center Operations or Infrastructure Support.
• Hands-on experience with computer hardware troubleshooting, repair, and assembly.
• Strong Linux operating system experience.
• Knowledge of server, storage, and networking infrastructure.
• Experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues in production environments.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and respond quickly to operational issues.
• Comfortable working in a 24x7 data center environment and participating in on-call rotations.

Preferred Skills

• Data Center migration and discovery experience.
• Computer networking experience.
• Scripting experience with Python, Bash, or similar languages.
• Experience with Cisco IOS and/or Juniper JunOS.
• Familiarity with rack-and-stack operations and cable management.
• Associate's Degree or equivalent experience in an IT-related field.
