A global professional-services organization is seeking a hands-on Data Engineer to support an enterprise data and analytics modernization initiative. The role will help build reliable, analytics-ready data solutions while the organization continues to modernize its Microsoft cloud data platform.
The engineer will work across data pipelines, SQL development, Python transformations, data modeling, data quality, and cloud-data technologies including Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Databricks, SQL Server, and Microsoft Fabric.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Develop and optimize data pipelines and data objects supporting reporting and analytics.
- Build and maintain ETL/ELT workflows.
- Write advanced SQL queries, functions, and procedures.
- Develop Python-based data transformation and automation solutions.
- Troubleshoot complex data issues.
- Improve data quality, reliability, performance, and scalability.
- Partner with engineering, analytics, data science, and business stakeholders.
- Contribute to documentation, governance, and engineering best practices.
Role Requirements- 2 4 years of relevant enterprise data-engineering experience.
- Strong Azure Data Factory and Azure Data Lake Storage experience.
- Hands-on Databricks experience.
- SQL Server and advanced SQL expertise.
- Strong Python experience.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT, and data warehousing.
- Azure/cloud data-platform experience.
- Data-quality and governance knowledge.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE- Microsoft Fabric or Azure SQL Database experience.
- Semi-structured or NoSQL database experience.
- Legal-industry technology experience.
- Azure data certification.
