Kforce has a client that is seeking a Data Lead in New York, NY.
Summary:
The Data Lead will lead the Historical Data, Data Conversion, and Archiving Strategy for a large-scale SAP implementation. This role will define the approach for migrating historical and transactional data into SAP while establishing data conversion, retention, archiving, and integration requirements across business and technical workstreams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the overall Historical Data, Data Conversion, and Archiving Strategy
- Develop key deliverables, including the Key Decision Document (KDD) and initial Functional Design Specification (FSD) for Master Data Conversion Objects
- Define historical data requirements, including the amount of history needed within SAP GL and Group Reporting
- Establish the SAP data conversion and migration approach, including supporting tools and processes
- Develop the data archiving strategy for historical and SAP data, including platform selection and retention requirements
- Partner with Business, Tax, and Legal stakeholders to identify and document data retention requirements
- Coordinate with Master Data Management (MDM) workstreams to define integration scope
- Provide guidance around Chart of Accounts harmonization and mapping
- Coordinate with technical teams on the ETL approach for transactional data migration and replication from source systems
- Partner with Reporting teams to define how SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) staging tables support downstream data conversion and reporting requirements
- Manage data-related dependencies across functional, technical, MDM, and reporting workstreams
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- 9+ years of relevant experience
- Strong data analysis experience
- Extensive experience with SAP data migration
- Experience with SAP data archiving
- Strong data conversion experience
- Experience developing data migration and historical data strategies for SAP implementations
- Knowledge of SAP GL and Group Reporting data requirements
- Experience with ETL processes and transactional data migration
- Experience with master data conversion and Master Data Management (MDM)
- Knowledge of Chart of Accounts mapping and harmonization
- Experience developing or supporting Functional Design Specifications (FSDs)
- Understanding of data retention and archiving requirements
- Experience working across Business, Technical, Reporting, Tax, and Legal stakeholders
- Experience with SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) or SAP-based data staging is beneficial
- English proficiency
- Must be able to work on-site Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
