The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) provides leadership, resources, support, and accountability to the states 178 school districts, 1,888 schools, over 53,000 teachers, and over 3,200 administrators to help them build capacity to meet the needs of the states approximately 905,000 public school students. In addition, CDE provides structural and administrative support to the Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind and the Charter School Institute.
As the administrative arm of the State Board of Education, CDE is responsible for implementing state and federal education laws, disbursing state and federal funds, holding schools and districts accountable for performance, licensing all educators, and providing public transparency of performance and financial data.

Description of Job
Work Environment:
This position is a full-time, hybrid, state-funded position (funding is contingent upon availability and may end at any time)
Office hours are typically Mon-Fri, 8 am-5 pm.
Extended hours during the evening or the weekend may be required by business needs.
A Remote (Home) office is required.
Required to report to the work location per business needs.

The Data Services Unit is a team of data professionals passionate about transforming education data into meaningful insights. We provide exceptional technical support to school district personnel and produce accurate, reliable data reports that inform educators, policymakers, researchers, and the public. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work independently on assigned projects while collaborating with colleagues on initiatives that support Colorado school districts and advance the work of the Colorado Department of Education. This Data Management Analyst position will oversee the Student Attendance snapshot, Teacher Student Data Link snapshot, and Teacher Student Data Link interchange. This position is a member of the Student Data and Reporting team who supports the Student Interchange. Note: Specific data collection assignments are subject to change based on business needs.
The Data Management Analyst position is responsible for understanding Legislative requirements and identifying the data which will be collected and reported by Colorado's Local Education Agencies. The individual in this role is required to validate the data and implement quality assurance best practices to ensure the quality of the data. This position is responsible for leading the data collections assigned which include communication and outreach plans, implementation, supporting and training Colorados local education agencies throughout the process and data analysis. This position requires collaboration with various units across the department to determine collection changes necessitated by legislation or regulation and to provide data needed to fulfill reporting, technical assistance, monitoring, and analysis obligations.
