We are seeking a Communications / Public Affairs Specialist to support strategic communications, public outreach, and organizational messaging. This role focuses on developing and executing communications strategies, managing digital platforms, and creating high quality content to support mission objectives. The ideal candidate has experience engaging cross functional audiences, supporting leadership messaging, and adapting communications to meet evolving priorities in a mission-focused environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute strategic communications plans aligned with organizational goals, objectives, and priorities
  • Manage and maintain internal and external communication platforms, including websites and social media channels
  • Research, write, edit, and review content such as press releases, articles, newsletters, leadership talking points, and social media posts
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on communications metrics and media engagement to inform strategy and decision-making
  • Support public affairs and outreach efforts, including responding to external inquiries and coordinating media and conference engagements
  • Promote organizational events and initiatives to enhance awareness and foster partnerships
  • Review and approve communications materials to ensure consistency and adherence to organizational standards
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders to tailor messaging for audiences at all levels
  • Adapt messaging and communication strategies to meet changing priorities and mission needs

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Media Studies, or a related field, and five (5) years of combined experience in communications, public affairs, graphic design, or web content management OR a High School Diploma and ten (10) years of combined experience in communications, public affairs, graphic design, and web content management
  • Experience drafting, executing, and evaluating strategic communications plans against organizational goals, objectives, and priorities
  • Prior experience in customer engagement, communications, or public outreach roles
  • US citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required

Desired Experience:
  • Experience managing social media strategy and improving audience engagement
  • Experience with web content management systems and digital communications tools
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to track and interpret communications metrics
  • Experience supporting senior leadership with messaging and public-facing communications

Pay Range: $49,996.80 - $290,004.00
Pay ranges are a general guideline and not intended as a guaranteed and/or implied final compensation or salary for this job opening. Determination of official compensation or salary relies on several different factors including, but not limited to: level of position, complexity of job responsibilities, geographic location, work experience, education, certifications, Federal Government contract labor categories, and contract wage rates.
