Data Scientist 1 Generative AI & Agentic AI in
Irving, TX. The work will be done
100% onsite, full-time, on first shift. This is a
12-month position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is
up to approximately $58/hr W-2 + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
The Data Scientist 1 will support enterprise-wide adoption of Generative AI (GenAI) tools, AI assistants, and agentic AI capabilities by helping business teams identify opportunities and implement practical AI-driven solutions. This individual will work closely with business stakeholders, AI Product Owners, architects, and technical teams to translate business needs into AI use cases, configure and evaluate AI tools, and troubleshoot implementation challenges. The role combines hands-on GenAI experimentation, prompt engineering, business consulting, and user enablement to improve productivity and business processes. The ideal candidate will understand AI technologies and communicate their capabilities, limitations, and benefits while ensuring responsible and secure enterprise adoption.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with business stakeholders to identify, evaluate, and document opportunities for Generative AI, AI assistants, and agentic workflows that improve business operations and productivity.
- Configure, test, demonstrate, troubleshoot, and document AI prompts, assistants, agents, and workflows, including knowledge grounding, system instructions, and structured outputs.
- Support AI experimentation, validation, and adoption by evaluating business value, technical feasibility, data availability, risks, governance requirements, and user feedback.
- Troubleshoot GenAI tool issues involving prompt behavior, configurations, access, knowledge grounding, integrations, and workflow functionality, collaborating with technical specialists when needed.
- Work with AI Product Owners, Data Science leadership, platform teams, and business users to develop reusable AI solutions, document best practices, and promote responsible AI adoption across the organization.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related technical or quantitative field.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience involving AI, Generative AI, analytics, business technology, or related technical solutions.
- Working knowledge of Generative AI tools, AI assistants, copilots, and agentic AI technologies, including their practical business applications.
- Hands-on experience configuring, testing, troubleshooting, or demonstrating AI prompts, assistants, agents, or AI-enabled workflows.
- Understanding of prompt engineering, system instructions, knowledge grounding, agent configuration, structured outputs, and AI evaluation techniques.
- Familiarity with business productivity technologies, collaboration platforms, workflow tools, data sources, APIs, and basic scripting or analytical tools.
- Knowledge of AI risks, limitations, responsible AI practices, human oversight, and enterprise security considerations.
- Ability to translate technical AI concepts into clear business language and guide nontechnical stakeholders through AI adoption.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, teamwork, organizational skills, and ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience supporting enterprise GenAI adoption, AI enablement programs, or AI-driven business transformation initiatives.
- Familiarity with the AI solution lifecycle, including use-case discovery, experimentation, validation, deployment, adoption, support, and performance measurement.
- Experience with Python, pandas, NumPy, SciPy, or other analytical and statistical tools.
- Knowledge of machine learning techniques, statistical analysis, and data visualization.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with AI governance, change management, risk assessment, and enterprise technology implementation.
- Background supporting manufacturing, industrial equipment, engineering, or other large enterprise environments.
- Master's or PhD degree in a related technical field.
