Responsibilities:

Peraton is seeking a Data Scientist subject matter expert to help analyze and resolve key questions related to key issues of national security facing the United States. The data scientist will contribute to intelligence production and support the creation of internal capabilities to enhance and enable the effectiveness of analytic teams. The ideal candidate has experience supporting the Intelligence Community (IC), strong attention to detail and time management skills, and the ability to perform independently and within a team in a fast‑paced environment.

 

Key Responsibilities of this role include:

• Analyzing data collect and recommending opportunities to automate processes;
• Collaborating with internal and external partners to support the development of data collect strategies and opportunities to enhance that collect;
• Supporting the ingest, use, and management of data while ensuring all activity adheres to applicable customer and community standards;
• Maintaining quality standards as directed by the program leadership team and supporting the implementation of corrective actions as needed;
• Engaging with colleagues to support initiatives designed to enhance customer tools and close capabilities gaps

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

• Current TS/SCI clearance with polygraph;
• BS/BA and 12+ years of relevant experience, MS/MA and 10+ years of relevant experience, or PhD and 7+ years of relevant experience;
• 4 years of additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree;
• Proven data science background with experience using multiple programming languages such as Python, R, and Ruby;
• Experience providing recommendations and technical support to enhance data management and database creation;
• Extensive experience correlating and interpreting large amounts of data and detailing findings in a clear, concise manner;
• Experience with data visualization and reporting;
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills;
• Ability to effectively communicate with diverse technical and non-technical audiences;
• Ability to apply critical thinking skills to resolve issues independently with minimal supervision

 

Desired Qualifications

• Experience supporting national-level customers;
• Experience working in the customer’s operational environment;
• Knowledge of IC policies and procedures and the ability to apply that knowledge to effectively meet customer needs

Target Salary Range: $176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Benefits Statement:
