Database Administrator - Expert

Provide a short description of the Position: The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, agency representatives, solution architects, project managers, developers, and quality assurance teams to design, implement, and maintain enterprise database solutions supporting HESC's strategic initiatives.

Provide a list of the day-to-day tasks to be performed by the Selected Candidate: Daily Responsibilities " Build and maintain enterprise data architecture based on business and technical requirements. " Design and develop logical and physical data models using ER/Studio Data Architect. " Create and maintain DDL scripts for tables, views, indexes, constraints, triggers, and stored procedures. " Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL and DML scripts against Microsoft SQL Server and IBM DB2 databases. " Support data conversion activities including data mapping, transformation, reconciliation, validation, and migration. " Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, application developers, solution architects, and QA teams to ensure database solutions meet project requirements. " Analyze and tune database performance through query optimization, indexing strategies, and execution plan analysis. " Work directly with NYS agency representatives to understand business rules, conduct gap analysis, and support data-related initiatives. " Provide technical guidance development support for QMF for Workstation reporting and query solutions. " Utilize SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), SSIS, SSRS, Redgate SQL Compare, TSO, and related tools to support database administration and development activities. " Develop and maintain technical documentation, including data models, data dictionaries, source-to-target mapping documents, process flows, and database standards. " Support database deployment, version control, data quality initiatives, and change management activities. " Mentor junior team members and provide guidance on database design and development best practices.
