Overview:
Seeking a highly experienced Oracle Database Operations Lead to manage enterprise-level Oracle environments for Abbott Labs within an Application Management Services (AMS) delivery model. The role focuses on Oracle 19c, RAC, SAP-related databases, performance tuning, patching, upgrades, OEM monitoring, and leading DBA teams while ensuring SLA-driven operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily database operations across Linux and Windows platforms.
- Lead AMS delivery operations and ensure SLAs/KPIs are consistently met.
- Perform patching, upgrades, and new Oracle 19c builds (Standalone + RAC).
- Configure and maintain Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) monitoring/alerting.
- Administer and optimize SAP Oracle databases.
- Implement strong database security, backup, and recovery strategies.
- Collaborate with application teams on performance tuning and issue resolution.
- Manage client escalations and deliver timely resolutions.
- Lead and mentor mid-sized to large DBA teams.
- Create and maintain documentation for processes, configurations, and standards.
Requirement Qualifications:
- 15+ years of Oracle DBA experience with deep Oracle 19c & RAC expertise.
- Strong AMS delivery operations experience.
- Hands-on patching, upgrades, and database build experience.
- Proficient in OEM monitoring tools.
- Experience with SAP-related Oracle databases.
- Strong Linux & Windows platform knowledge for DB administration.
- Understanding of backup/recovery and HA (RAC, Data Guard).
- Shell scripting (good to have).
- Excellent communication and client management skills.
- Proven experience leading DBA teams.
- Solid knowledge of ITIL, incident & change management processes.
Candidate Details:
