Description
We are looking for an experienced Database Security Engineer with a strong background in database administration. This remote contract position involves managing and optimizing enterprise database activity monitoring platforms. The role requires ensuring comprehensive monitoring coverage, automating operational tasks, and refining security baselines. Familiarity with various database technologies is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations, troubleshooting, configuration, and maintenance of database activity monitoring environments.
- Collaborate with database administrators to ensure all target assets are actively monitored without blind spots.
- Monitor platform telemetry to detect health anomalies and ensure continuous activity recording.
- Review policy drift and recommend rule adjustments to align with security standards.
- Automate health checks, monitoring verification, reporting, and operational task workflows.
Qualifications
- Hands-on administration and troubleshooting experience with database activity monitoring platforms.
- Strong foundational knowledge of database architectures and system catalogs.
- Demonstrated capability to automate tasks using scripting languages.
- Experience in vendor and incident management for resolving platform issues.
- Familiarity with database auditing principles and threat detection.
