What You'll DoWork with individuals to plan, coordinate, and participate in social, recreational, and community activities.Provide care, support, and guidance to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in program and community settings.Support individuals in directing the course of their own lives while promoting advocacy, self-confidence, choice, and independence.Promote the emotional, physical, and personal well-being of the people receiving support.Assist individuals with daily tasks, routines, and activities.Support individuals in developing essential life skills, including money management, shopping, household tasks, and other skills that promote independence.Assist with personal care and hygiene as needed.Build positive, respectful relationships while encouraging individuals to participate fully in their communities. What You'll NeedHigh school diploma or equivalent.Must be at least 18 years of age.A valid New York State driver's license is required.A compassionate, dependable, and person-centered approach.An interest in supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
