About the Role:Little Lana Daycare in Jamaica, NY is looking for a warm, caring, and enthusiastic Daycare Assistant to join our team! Responsibilities:- Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities, games, and learning exercises
- Assist with daily routines including meals, nap time, and personal hygiene
- Support lead teachers in implementing structured early childhood education programs
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom and play environment
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding children's daily progress
- Monitor children's behavior and apply positive reinforcement techniques
- Assist with diapering, potty training, and other childcare needs as required
Requirements:- Prior experience in childcare, daycare, or early childhood education preferred
- Genuine passion for working with infants, toddlers, and young children
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain patience, compassion, and professionalism at all times
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Child Development Associate (CDA) credential a plus
- Must pass a background check in accordance with New York State childcare regulations
