The Learning Experience of Middletown is looking for a caring, energetic, and dependable Assistant Teacher to join our growing team!

At The Learning Experience, we believe that early childhood education should be a fun, engaging, and nurturing experience for every child. Our teachers play an important role in helping children build confidence, develop independence, and reach important developmental milestones.

We are looking for someone who genuinely loves working with young children, enjoys being part of a team, and is excited to make a positive difference in childrens lives each day!

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher with daily classroom activities, lessons, and routines.

• Help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.

• Support childrens social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through age-appropriate activities.

• Supervise children throughout the day, including during meals, naps, outdoor play, and transitions.

• Assist with diapering, toileting, feeding, and other daily care routines as needed.

• Encourage positive behaviors, independence, and age-appropriate social skills.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom.

• Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow staff members.

• Follow all center policies, health and safety procedures, and applicable childcare regulations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children is preferred.

• A genuine passion for early childhood education and working with young children.

• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

• Patience, reliability, and a positive attitude.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced classroom environment.

• Willingness to learn, take direction, and grow professionally.

• Must be able to meet all applicable New York State childcare employment requirements.
