    Job Description\n \nDaycare Teacher \n \nResponsible for providing a safe and nurturing environment for young children, facilitating their social, emotional, and physical development through age-appropriate activities, and managing daily care needs like feeding, diapering, and rest times. They develop and implement lesson plans, monitor children's progress, and communicate regularly with parents about their child's well-being and development. \n \nJob Responsibilities: \n \nChild supervision and safety: \n \nAlways supervise children to ensure their safety and well-being. Maintain a clean, sanitary, and hazard-free environment. \n \nDaily care: \n \nAssist with basic needs such as feeding, changing diapers, and helping with naps or rest times. Prepare meals and snacks. \n \nEducational activities: \n \nCreate and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that include a mix of learning, playtime, and physical activities. Use various methods like stories, games, arts and crafts, and music to enhance learning. \n \nDevelopmental monitoring: \n \nObserve and record children's progress, behavior, and development. Identify potential developmental or emotional issues and communicate them to parents or guardians. \n \nSocial-emotional guidance: \n \nPromote positive social skills, encourage good manners, and help children learn to share and get along with one another. \n \nParent communication : \n \nMaintain regular communication with parents regarding their child's day, progress, and any concerns. \n \nClassroom management: \n \nOrganize and set up the classroom and play areas. Enforce classroom rules and manage behavioral issues as they arise. \n \nProfessional development: \n \nAttend staff meetings and ongoing training to stay current on best practices in early childhood education. \n \nRequirements \n \nMust be at least 18 years of age. \n \nHigh School diploma or equivalent. \n \nObtain NC Early Childhood Credential (NCECC) within 18 months of hire. \n \nAssociate or Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (Preferred) \n \nSuccessful completion of EDU 111, EDU 112 or EDU 119 courses. \n \nCPR and First Aid certification are required. \n \nHealth Screen including TB Test \n \nEarly Childhood Credentials or enrolled in class within the first 6 months of employment. \n \nSuccessful completion of Pro Solutions training. \n \nSuccessful completion of Recognizing & Responding to Suspicions of Child Maltreatment. \n \nA clear criminal background check in the State of North Carolina; including FBI and state policy checks. and health screening (including a TB test). \n \nKey skills include patience, creativity, strong communication and interpersonal skills, adaptability, and physical stamina. \n\n
