Compensation: $24.00 BOE
General Purpose: The Daytime Cook is responsible for preparing various food products.
Essential Duties: • Follows recipes and/or product directions for proper food preparation. • Maintains quality control for all products, including monitoring freshness of product daily. • Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or cart. • Prepares appropriate equipment for cooking. • Operates kitchen utensils and/or equipment used for weighing, measuring, mixing, washing, peeling, cutting, grinding, stirring, straining, slicing, assembling, and kneading of food products. • Ensures proper food handling procedures are followed (wrapping, labeling, dating, stocking, storing, rotating, and checking temperature of products). • Receives and inventories food and beverage product and supplies. • Cleans and sanitizes workstation and equipment.
Ability to perform any other duties as assigned by Department Manager.
Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with high-end prep is desirable. Experience in a scratch kitchen is mandatory.
Physical Demands: Frequently stands, uses hands, talks, hears, tastes, and smells. Regularly walks and reaches with hands and arms. Occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. Regularly lifts up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 100 pounds.
Environment/Noise: Regularly works in extreme heat (non-weather) and near moving mechanical parts. Occasionally works in extreme cold (non-weather), wet or humid conditions (non-weather), near toxic or caustic chemicals, and in outdoor weather. Noise level is moderate.
Certificates/Licenses: Food Safety and Sanitation Training
