    DC Area Manager - 2nd Shift

    The Opportunity

    As DC Area Manager on 2nd shift, you'll own the tactical execution of distribution operations within a specific area of the facility, whether that's Receiving, Case Pick/Putaway, Case Loops, Order Processing, Shipping, Ship Sort, Inventory Control, or Wave Management. You'll lead a dynamic team of 15-20 order processors and/or power equipment operators, building their skills while keeping the shift running safely, accurately, and on pace. This is a front-line leadership role for someone who wants ownership over a piece of the operation and the daily variety of solving problems as they come up. This position is based in Westampton, NJ and reports to the Director of DC Distribution or DC General Manager.

    What You'll Be Doing

    Leading the Shift

    • Oversee subordinates and multiple activities within your assigned department and shift, coordinating with department leaders and counterparts across other shifts to keep execution consistent.
    • Coach, train, and develop department leaders and subordinates, reinforcing Company policies and performance standards along the way.
    • Prioritize and monitor order completion to make sure deadlines are met, and track productivity against company standards and projections.

    Systems & Safety

    • Work hands-on with WMS, automation, conveyor, and unit sortation systems to manage transactions, exceptions, planning, and distribution flow through the facility.
    • Partner with the Facilities Manager on safety, security, and building control activities within your area of responsibility.

    Building Relationships

    • Serve as the direct point of contact for internal and external customers on operational activity and issue resolution during your shift.
    • Build and maintain working relationships across every functional area of the distribution center, including Company employees and vendors.

    What You'll Need

    Skills & Knowledge

    • Working knowledge of WMS, automation, conveyor, and unit sortation systems.
    • Strong understanding of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Outlook, with high proficiency in Excel.
    • Systems and informational management skills at the moderate to expert level.
    • Solid grasp of distribution-related processes, business concepts, and best practices.
    • Comfort managing outside vendors and customers, and the ability to both work on a team and lead one.
    • A track record of implementing process improvement initiatives.
    • Strong business communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Strong multi-tasking, organizational, detail, and follow-up skills.

    Experience

    • 4+ combined years in supervisor or management-level positions overseeing 15+ associates, preferably in a distribution center environment.
    • Prior hands-on experience with a Warehouse Management System.

    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with systems actively used in the facility: Korber, SiSense, AS400, UPS CampusShip,or Labor Management Systems such as EZ Metrics.
    • Extensive exposure to an automated facility.
    • Experience overseeing a workforce that includes both full-time/direct and temporary associates.
