Position Details
General Statement
The Dean serves as the chief administrative and academic officer of the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education and makes academic and administrative decisions and recommendations pertaining to College offerings and operations at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and within the College's Continuing Education program. As a key member of the Provost's leadership team, the Dean reports to and works with the Provost and Senior Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs. The Dean oversees within the College strategic planning budgets; fundraising; curriculum; continuing education; student recruitment and retention; faculty and staff recruitment, development, support, evaluation, and retention; program development; assessment and reporting; accreditation activities; administration; and community outreach.
Priorities of the College include further strengthening research and graduate education, fostering a first-class undergraduate education experience within the College, reinforcing positive relationships with stakeholders in the community, and partnering with key entities across the university to foster learner success.
