Got an opening on a local shuttle fleet running straight out of a regional distribution center. If you are trying to find something local where you can do your daily turns and sleep in your own bed every single night, this is a solid option.
It is a 100% no-touch freight account. You are basically just doing drop-and-hook or local shuttle runs, so you do not have to load or unload anything yourself.
The Pay & The Work Structure
Daily Salary: You get a flat $200 a day right from the start (for drivers with 0 to 2 years of experience).
Weekly Average: Most guys on this run make around $1,300 gross every week.
The Route: You will run about 2 turns a day out of the local DC, hitting around 2,000 miles a week.
The Bad Part: Since the freight has to keep moving for the stores, you have to be okay with changing routes, driving in winter weather, and working through regular calendar holidays.
Schedule & Home Time
Home Daily: 100% Home Daily. You finish up your turn and go home every night.
Shifts: The terminal runs day and night, so you need to be flexible to work either shift depending on what they need.
Days: You will work a minimum of 5 days a week on a rolling Monday through Sunday schedule, so weekend work is part of the job.
