Job Summary:\n \nPerinatal Sonographer- performs high risk diagnostic obstetrical sonographic examinations utilizing ultrasonic equipment to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data. Assists with specialty procedures. Schedules and coordinates tests, records test results, and prepares and maintains operational logs.\n \nEssential Responsibilities:\n\n Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations (anatomy scans, Growth, Biophysical profile, Dopplers, assist in amniocentesis). \n Preform ultrasound exams according to AIUM protocols. \n Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images.\n Uses independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings. \n Analyzes sonograms, synthesizes sonographic information and medical history an communicates findings to the appropriate clinician. \n Able to work unsupervised and perform exams independently.\n Assumes responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of the patients while they are in sonographers care. \n Assists with daily operations of the sonographic laboratory.\n Maintains ultrasound equipment and work area and maintains adequate supplies.\n Gathers appropriate laboratory results and completes laboratory requests.\n Reviews patients medical records to obtained record identifying information required for perinatology, instructs patient in preparing for examination and explains procedures to be performed.\n Weekend coverage at affiliated hospitals (portables).\n Obtain vitals, schedule follow-up appointments.\n Performs other work-related duties as assigned.\n Prepares preliminary reports.\n Assist Perinatologist in procedures (Amniocentesis) and provide diagnostic aid by conducting supporting Sonography scans to include Ultrasound Guided Biopsy procedures.\n \nBasic Qualifications:\n \nExperience\n\n Minimum three (3) years experience in obstetric ultrasound.\n \nEducation\n\n Graduate of AMA approved Ultrasonography Program.\n High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.\n \nLicense, Certification, Registration\n\n Nuchal Translucency Certification Certificate\n \n\n Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Ob-Gyn from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers\n \n\n Basic Life Support required at hire\n \n\n \nAdditional Requirements:\n\n Basic PC (keyboarding & navigation) skills.\n \nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n Minimum five (5) years experience in ultrasonography preferred.\n Customer service aptitude demonstrated through Customer Service Assessment preferred.\n Fetal Echocardiogram Certification preferred.\n \nNotes:\n\n* Float between both MFM office locations Glenlake & Southwood and provide coverage of Kaiser Permanente in-patients at Northside Hospital.\n \nPrimary Location: Georgia,Atlanta,Glenlake Medical Offices Scheduled Weekly Hours: 1 Shift: Day Workdays: Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat Working Hours Start: 08:00 AM Working Hours End: 05:00 PM Job Schedule: Call-in/On-Call Job Type: Standard Employee Status: Regular Worker Location: Onsite Employee Group/Union Affiliation: GTC|UFCW|Local 1996 Job Level: Individual Contributor Department: Regional Office - 9 Piedmont - Primary Care - APC Float - 2808 Pay Range: $44.57 - $57.21 / hour Kaiser Permanente strives to offer a market competitive total rewards package and is committed to pay equity and transparency.
