Delivery Driver-CDL Boom Operator-Union

Position Purpose:

The primary function of a delivery driver is to safely and efficiently operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with company policies along with Federal and State regulations and delivers all freight undamaged. Work as a team player to deliver, load/unload materials while providing a world class customer service experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect truck/trailer for defects for safe operation.
• Safely load building materials onto flatbed or boom truck and unload products at commercial and residential job sites.
• Deliver materials to assigned area as directed by the customer while prioritizing personal safety and the safety of those around you.
• Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations.
• Report all accidents involving driver or company equipment.
• Provide excellent customer service skills and professional attitude.

Direct Manager/Direct Reports:

• Reports to head Dispatcher and/or Operations Manager and/or Branch/Area Manager

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position while driving a commercial vehicle 40% of the time.
• Must be able to lift heavy building materials up to 100 lbs. for loading/unloading.
• Frequently moves materials weighing up to 100 lbs. while unloading flatbed.
• Will constantly move from unloading materials from commercial motor vehicle onto job site.
• Will constantly operate commercial motor vehicle and/or boom vehicle.
• Will constantly position self to unload materials from flatbed or boom.
• Must be able to judge distance while delivering materials and/or operating boom.
• Must be able to communicate with management and coworkers and be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
• Constantly working in outside environment while making deliveries.

Working Conditions:

• Work is performed primarily outdoors and on active construction and customer job sites under varying weather conditions.
• Frequent lifting, carrying, loading, and unloading of drywall, building materials, and related products, including handling heavy and bulky items.
• Requires prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs, and entering/exiting delivery vehicles.
• Regular operation of commercial delivery vehicles and material-handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and dollies, as applicable.
• Exposure to dust, noise, uneven terrain, and other conditions commonly found on construction sites and in warehouse environments.
• Must adhere to all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• May require early morning starts, overtime, and schedule flexibility to meet customer and operational demands.
• Ability to safely lift and move materials weighing up to 100 pounds with assistance or mechanical equipment as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must have a valid commercial driver's license (CDL).
• Minimum Class B License, Class A strongly preferred
• Must have a clear three (3) year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
• Must have overall knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations.

The base salary for this position typically falls within the range of $28.22 to $35.91 per hour. Starting wage may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. SRS Distribution offers additional competitive and non-financial benefits. Hourly associates may be eligible for overtime based on business needs. Depending on the role, associates may also be eligible for performance-based bonus programs, commissions, car allowance or automobile and fuel program, and reimbursement for travel expenses in accordance with company travel policy.
