Job Title: Delivery Driver, CDL Class A Required

Summary:
As a CDL Driver for Atlantic Tire Distributor, you will be responsible for safely operating a truck of at least 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, exceptional driving skills and a commitment to safety regulations. The CDL driver in this position will be home at the end of each workday.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities; include but not limited to:
- Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers to ensure they are in proper working condition and comply with safety regulations.
- Maintain clear communication with dispatchers, shippers, and receivers to coordinate pickup and delivery schedules and address any issues that may arise during transit.
- Complete required paperwork accurately and timely, including bills of lading, logbooks, and other transportation-related documents.
- Provide excellent customer service by representing the company professionally and courteously when interacting with clients and the public.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks on trucks and trailers, such as checking fluids, inspecting tires, and reporting any mechanical issues to maintenance personnel.
- Handle emergencies and unexpected situations calmly and effectively, such as accidents, breakdowns, or adverse weather conditions, while prioritizing the safety of yourself and others.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations, including weight limits, permit requirements, and hours-of-service regulations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- CDL License: Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License Class A.
- Safety Conscious: Strong commitment to safety protocols and regulations, with a clean driving record and knowledge of DOT regulations.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including lifting, bending, and securing heavy loads.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and co-workers.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail when securing loads and completing paperwork to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities to address challenges that may arise during transit and make quick decisions in emergency situations.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work long hours, weekends, and travel overnight as needed to meet delivery schedules and customer demands.
- Performing General Physical Activities: Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stopping and handling of materials.
- Time Management: Plan routes efficiently and manage delivery schedules to meet deadlines and meet customer expectations.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical part, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The truck may or may not be air conditioned/heated seasonally. Drivers may encounter various road conditions, traffic congestion, and inclement weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, or wind. The employee must regularly lift up to 100 pounds, frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific visions abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
