About the Role

The Delivery Manager leads end‑to‑end execution of complex, fixed‑bid software development projects. This role oversees scope, delivery quality, financial performance, and client satisfaction while guiding cross‑functional teams through long‑term engagements. The ideal candidate brings deep application development experience, strong program leadership, and a track record of delivering large, multi‑year projects within professional services environments.

Responsibilities

Project Delivery

  • Lead full project lifecycle across scope, schedule, cost, quality, resources, risks, and communications.
  • Ensure timely, high‑quality, and cost‑effective delivery of services to clients.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, and critical paths.
  • Partner with Architects and Technical Leads to prioritize functionality and manage release cycles.
  • Support validation and UAT activities to ensure business requirements are met.
  • Provide regular status reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with QA and Documentation teams to ensure end‑to‑end delivery success.
  • Maintain overall delivery cadence and ensure team commitments are met.

Resource & Team Leadership

  • Coach, mentor, and motivate project team members; foster accountability and ownership.
  • Ensure team members have the necessary skills in technology, project management, and engineering processes.
  • Recognize high performance and address performance gaps.
  • Resolve cross‑team issues and remove delivery blockers.

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary escalation point for delivery‑related issues.
  • Build strong client relationships and communicate progress, risks, and success factors.
  • Identify growth and farming opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Lead project initiation and ensure smooth handoff from sales to delivery.
  • Partner with senior management and project leadership to drive quality and customer satisfaction.

Risk, Change & Escalation Management

  • Monitor risks and execute mitigation plans at major milestones and project closure.
  • Review and approve changes impacting scope, timeline, cost, or quality.
  • Provide oversight based on ongoing risk analysis and delivery health.

Financial & Quality Management

  • Ensure project profitability and adherence to financial targets.
  • Review and close project financials at completion.
  • Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and stakeholder expectations.
  • Understand and balance expectations across clients, users, governance groups, and internal teams.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 15–20 years of overall experience, including 10+ years managing fixed‑bid software development projects.
  • Strong application development background.
  • Proven success leading long‑term engagements (2.5+ years).
  • Experience managing budgets, timelines, and resource allocations in fixed‑bid environments.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, IT, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP certification.
  • Experience in consulting or professional services organizations (e.g., Cognizant, Wipro, Infosys, TCS, Nagarro‑like environments).
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle and engineering practices.
  • US SLED/Public Sector delivery experience.
  • Understanding of public sector compliance and procurement processes.
