Description

Client Overview:
Our client is a global manufacturer that partners with leading beauty brands to develop and produce innovative cosmetic products. Our client is seeking a Demand Planner to join their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:
$80,000 - $85,000

Position Overview:
The Demand Planner will manage forecasting activities and help align customer demand with production, inventory, and revenue plans. Working closely with Sales, Supply Chain, Procurement, Customer Service, and Finance, this individual will consolidate commercial inputs, identify changes in demand, and develop reliable forecasts as part of the S&OP process.
This role is ideal for an analytical planner who is comfortable working independently, challenging assumptions, and presenting insights to both commercial and operational stakeholders.

Responsibilities of the Demand Planner:
  • Develop and maintain demand forecasts using historical data, statistical models, market trends, and commercial input.
  • Consolidate forecasts across customers, products, and business divisions to create an integrated demand plan.
  • Communicate demand plans to Supply Chain and Production to support inventory, capacity, and material planning.
  • Partner with Sales, Customer Service, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Finance to validate assumptions and identify demand risks and opportunities.
  • Use SAP and demand planning systems to maintain accurate data, analyze scenarios, and support business decisions.
  • Participate in S&OP meetings by presenting demand trends, explaining variances, and supporting consensus planning.
  • Track forecast accuracy, bias, and other KPIs; perform root-cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare demand reports and dashboards while supporting improvements to forecasting and planning processes.
Required Experience/Skills for the Demand Planner:
  • 2-5 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, supply chain planning, or a related analytical position.
  • Experience within cosmetics, beauty, personal care, ingredients, fragrance, flavors, or another regulated manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of S&OP or integrated business planning processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency; experience with business intelligence tools is a plus.
  • Experience with SAP demand planning solutions, including SAP IBP, APO, ERP demand modules, or similar systems, is highly preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with commercial, technical, and operational stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting an international or multi-site organization is a plus.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Demand Planner:
  • Experience within cosmetics, beauty, personal care, ingredients, fragrance, flavors, or another regulated manufacturing environment.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
