Dental Assistant

Faith-based family health care center is seeking a full-time Dental Assistant to join our growing clinical support team! The dental assistant will work with the dentist and other members of the dental team to provide quality and efficient dental treatment to patients following established practices and protocols.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; graduate of an accredited dental assisting program preferred.
• Certification in radiology by the state of PA is required.
• 2 years of experience required.
• Must be able to maintain superior chairside manner while working in a fast-paced clinic.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Must have reliable transportation and be able to report to our Wilkinsburg, East Liberty and Lincoln-Lemington locations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Serve as chairside assistant for the dentist or other dental team members.
• Preparation before treatment and disinfection after treatment of the dental operatory and all dental instruments following established OSHA and CDC infection control guidelines.
• Practice effective fourhanded dentistry techniques to provide for safe and efficient dental treatment and patient management.
• Exposure and processing of dental radiographs to provide for proper diagnosis and treatment planning by the dentist according to state guidelines.
• Prepare lab cases and fabricated dental impressions, models and appliances.
• Provide patients with post-operative and oral hygiene instructions.
• Manage dentist''s schedule to ensure that patients get prompt and efficient dental treatment.
• Maintain and monitor dental equipment needed.
