Job Description
We are seeking a qualified and caring Dental Assistant to join our established general dental practice in Valley Village! As a Dental Assistant, you will provide top-notch dental care that makes our patients feel like family. You will work chairside with the doctor through a full range of general procedures, prepare and turn over operatories, and help patients understand their treatment. This is a full-time position, four days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday), 32 hours. The ideal candidate is x-ray certified, has previous chairside experience, and genuinely enjoys putting nervous patients at ease. Responsibilities
- Welcome patients into the treatment area and make them feel comfortable
- Assist the doctor chairside during restorative and general procedures
- Take digital radiographs
- Chart existing restorations and findings with the doctor
- Set up, prepare, turn over, and break down operatories for treatment
- Sterilize and maintain instruments per infection control protocol
- Review post-operative and oral hygiene instructions with patients
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and office policies
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, 8 hours per day.
Location: In person in Valley Village, CA. This position is not remote.
Requirements
- Current California Radiation Safety certificate (required to expose x-rays)
- Board-approved 8-hour Infection Control course completed
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- One year or more of chairside dental assisting experience preferred; graduates of a dental assisting program welcome to apply
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong computer and data entry skills
- Ability to provide high-quality patient care
