Minimum requirements:
- Must have a clear and current Florida Dental Hygiene license
- Must have a current/active CPR certificate
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- .Knowledge of dental terminology.
- Knowledge of dental hygiene principles and practices.
- Skills in using dental instruments and equipment and performing dental prophylaxis and scaling and root planning.
- Ability to instruct patients in preventive dental techniques.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to manage time so can adequately treat patients but still treat the number of patients needed and in a timely manner.
- Ability to work with dentists, assistants, student assistants and volunteers in a way that promotes teamwork and the betterment of the residents of Marion County.
Duties and Responsibilities -: Serve as a dental hygienist in the School Based Sealant program. Provide dental assessments, take pictures of inside of students mouth for tele-dentistry, educate students on oral hygiene provide fluoride varnish treatments and dental sealants.
