Job Title: Dental Office Manager

Location: Oildale, CA
Employment Type: Full-Time, Temporary Assignment
Pay Rate: Starting at $34.82 per hour (DOE)

Position Overview

Legacy Staffing is seeking an experienced and motivated Dental Office Manager on behalf of a healthcare client. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing daily dental office operations, managing front and back office teams, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering an exceptional patient experience.

The ideal candidate will have strong dental practice management experience, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of dental operations, billing, compliance, and staff development. Experience within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) environment is highly preferred. 

Key Responsibilities

Office Operations & Leadership

  • Oversee daily operations and patient services across dental clinics. 
  • Manage front and back office teams to ensure efficient patient care and workflow. 
  • Lead employee hiring, onboarding, scheduling, coaching, evaluations, disciplinary actions, and staff development. 
  • Facilitate staff meetings and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Front Office Oversight

  • Ensure efficiency in registration, scheduling, appointment management, and patient processing. 
  • Support administrative functions and office operations as needed. 
  • Monitor customer service performance and address patient concerns and complaints. 

Back Office Oversight

  • Ensure compliance with sterilization, infection control, and dental assisting procedures. 
  • Support clinical teams in maintaining quality patient care and operational efficiency. 

Financial & Administrative Management

  • Oversee billing, collections, insurance claims, coding accuracy, budgeting, and POS functions.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. 
  • Manage inventory, dental supplies, and vendor relationships. 

Quality, Compliance & Reporting

  • Monitor quality improvement initiatives and review operational reports. 
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, infection control, HIPAA, and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Generate and analyze weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual operational reports. 

Community & Organizational Engagement

  • Coordinate dental department participation in community outreach events. 
  • Collaborate with leadership and other departments to support organizational goals. 

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required. 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the dental field as a Dental Assistant and/or Dental Front Office professional. 
  • Minimum 2 years of management experience within a dental setting. 
  • FQHC experience strongly preferred.
  • Current and valid CPR certification. 
  • 8-Hour Infection Control Certificate (Required). 
  • Completion of Radiation Safety Course (Required). 
  • Experience with dental billing, insurance claims, coding, and practice management software such as Dentrix, NextGen, or similar systems. 
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
