The Department Administrator III is responsible for overall financial aspects of the department, to include, but not limited to: analyzing department budget, preparing the annual budget, ensuring adequate ledger/account reconciliation, preparing monthly financial reports, and ensuring clinical and research compliance. The administrator is responsible for the supervision, counseling and evaluation of department staff. He/she assists chairperson in development and implementation of annual goals.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree with 3 years of relevant experience in management accounting, planning, finance, computer operations, and personnel management, to include supervisory experience
OR
High school diploma or equivalent with 9 years of relevant experience in management accounting, planning, finance, computer operations, and personnel management, to include supervisory experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate degree
Health care/physician practice management
Budget development and how to manage operations to budget
Contract management experience
Knowledge of budgeting principles and practices
Knowledge of human resources concepts, practices, policies, and procedures
Ability to effectively supervise and train staff and proficiently organize, prioritize and schedule work assignments
Excellent planning, organization, and implementation skills
Excellent organizational, communication (orally and in writing) & interpersonal skills
Skilled in coordinating and organizing meetings and/or special events
Working knowledge and proficient in the use of various software programs (including database management [e.g. Access], presentation packages [e.g. PowerPoint], spreadsheets [e.g. Excel] and advanced word processing [e.g. Word])
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and competently manage a variety of activities with multiple deadlines; motivation and willingness to take initiative and full responsibility for selected activities; proven ability with budget management and accountability
Ability to work cooperatively/effectively with others of diverse personalities, education and cultural backgrounds
