Examples of Duties
Under direction, assists the Manager of Internal Audit in the supervision and coordination of the staff of the division and acts for the Manager of Internal Audit in his/her absence. Plans, organizes, and directs the work of the Auditing Department in the review and appraisal of City programs to assess economy, efficiency, and effectiveness. Directs the audit staff and contractors to perform annual post audits of all fiscal transactions and accounts. Reviews audit findings and recommendations. Directs the writing of audit reports. Directs the preparation of monthly activities, findings and recommendations. Conducts audit conferences. Meets with City officials, media, and the public regarding audit conferences and audit organizations. Represents the City in conferences and in professional organizations. Performs other job-related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Public Administration from an accredited four-year college or university required. Five years of full-time relevant paid experience in auditing or accounting required. Must have a knowledge of governmental auditing standards, specifically: accounting and auditing principles, organizational theory principles, Generally Applied Accounting Principles (G.A.A.P.), applicable laws, rules, and regulations, as well as public administration principles. Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of thirty (30) pounds. Valid state of Ohio Drivers License required.
