Position Overview

An established medical practice in Ocala, Florida is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to join its dermatology team.

This is not an entry-level position. Prior medical dermatology experience is required.

The ideal candidate is already comfortable managing a full dermatology schedule and wants a collaborative, patient-focused practice for the long term.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients, obtain medical histories, and perform focused physical examinations.
• Independently diagnose and manage a full range of medical dermatology conditions.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and evidence-based guidelines.
• Educate patients on diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and preventive skin care.
• Order and interpret diagnostic testing as appropriate.
• Perform dermatologic procedures (such as biopsies and excisions) consistent with training, experience, and practice protocols.
• Coordinate referrals and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation within the electronic health record (EHR).
• Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations, clinical standards, and patient confidentiality requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 year(s) of medical dermatology experience required.
• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current or eligible Florida Physician Assistant license in good standing.
• Current national certification through the appropriate certifying body.
• Demonstrated ability to see patients independently in a dermatology setting.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and patient education skills.
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems.
• Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care and continued professional development.

Please note: providers without dermatology experience will not be considered for this role.
