Description
Struction Solutions is seeking an experienced Design Associate to support the planning, design, and construction of educational facility projects for the Los Angeles Unified School District. This position will assist with architectural and engineering coordination, design-document review, contract administration, technical reporting, and project documentation. The ideal candidate has experience working on educational facilities or similar public-agency projects and understands California building codes and requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Support the planning, design, and construction of educational facility projects.
Assist with the administration of architectural and engineering contracts and services.
Read and interpret architectural, engineering, and planning drawings and documents.
Review design and construction documents for compliance with LAUSD standards and applicable federal, state, and local codes.
Coordinate architectural, engineering, and planning disciplines throughout the design process.
Collect, organize, analyze, and summarize project data.
Prepare reports, presentations, planning studies, surveys, and project research.
Maintain project files, technical records, and design documentation.
Review A/E contracts, invoices, and other internal documents for completeness and approval.
Conduct surveys and field investigations as needed.
Analyze design-related issues and recommend practical, code-compliant solutions.
Coordinate project activities with internal departments, consultants, and other stakeholders.
Assist with community outreach efforts related to District building projects.
Perform detailed calculations and other related project-support duties.
Education
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in architecture, engineering, planning, or a closely related field.
Experience
At least five years of full-time, paid professional experience working in an architecture and design environment.
Experience performing architectural, engineering, or planning design.
