[Responsibilities]

• Design major components and functional systems to improve products and manufacturing efficiency
• Utilize CAD tools to generate layouts, sketches, and detailed notes for design proposals
• Analyze key design factors such as manufacturability, material availability, equipment compatibility, and cost-effectiveness
• Ensure compliance with contractual specifications and operational requirements
• Communicate project updates and design decisions across departments and with external partners
• Recommend process and system enhancements to drive continuous improvement
• Manage and support projects under general supervision, meeting program and departmental objectives

[Required Skills and Experience]

• Proficient in CAD and design software
• Strong project management capabilities
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and product development
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Demonstrated ability to make informed design decisions considering cost, efficiency, and compliance

[Preferred Skills]

• Prior experience in defense or manufacturing sectors
• Knowledge of strength-weight optimization in design
• Familiarity with government or contractual specification requirements
• Security clearance (Secret preferred)
