Location: Newark, CADuration: 6 MonthsJob Type: Temporary AssignmentWork Type: OnsiteBase pay range$40.00/hr - $40.00/hrOverviewTekWissen is a global workforce management provider headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan that offers strategic talent solutions to our clients worldwide.Job DescriptionSummary:The main function of a Design Engineer is to research and investigate the design, functionality and maintenance of mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes.A typical design engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings, and read and interpret blueprints.ResponsibilitiesResearch, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines and other mechanical devices.Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects.Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using tools, equipment or software.SkillsCreativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.Team player and detail oriented.Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports.Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).Education / ExperienceBachelor's degree in engineering required. 0-2 years experience required.Be a significant contributor to a world-class Interior Components and Systems engineering teamCreate industry-leading Interior Components or Systems, with groundbreaking luxury, craftsmanship, performance, safety, ergonomics, and functionalityContribute to the packaging, engineering, release, and launch of Interior Components and Systems in the client's portfolioWork interactively within a cross-functional marketing, design, and vehicle engineering team, placing priority on the greater benefit of the vehicle above any one individual systemCollaborate with Interior trim suppliers to ensure technical excellence and on time delivery of the Interior Components and SystemsEmploy and develop effective tools and an innovative approach to supporting the developmentQualifications4+ years of demonstrated experience as a detail-oriented Interior Components and Systems development lead (for one or more: Hard trim, Soft trim, IP, Door trims, Consoles, Headliners, etc.)Knowledge and understanding of automotive Interior Components and Systems industry benchmark, trends and supplier competenciesExperience creating/improving/establishing technical product specifications and timelines to achieve an accelerated development cycle towards SOPExperienced in using CAD to create 2D/3D concept drawings, Interior Components and Systems, packaging layouts and DFM studies (CATIA V5/V6 preferred)Vehicle and product launch experienceAdvantageousFlexibility and ability to adapt to achieve success in a fast-paced startup environmentOne full program cycle experience from concept to production launch in automotive Interior Components and SystemsProfound knowledge of vehicle Interior Components and Systems and demonstrable track record of technical excellence and program executionA solid knowledge of plastic parts design, structural performance, manufacturing technologies, craftsmanship, ergonomics, safety and homologation requirementsStrong competency in materials selection, plastic injection molding/DFM, and GD&TA strong desire to create the very best product, working as an integral part of a very capable teamA practical hands‑on approach to complement the theoreticalExceptional technical abilities paired with excellent communication skillsEducationBachelor or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or in a relevant disciplineSeniority levelAssociateEmployment typeContractJob functionOtherIndustriesMotor Vehicle ManufacturingTekWissen® Group is an equal opportunity employer supporting workforce diversity.#J-18808-Ljbffr
