We're representing a well-funded AI startup building one of the first truly proactive personal AI assistants. Their flagship product lives inside iMessage, Telegram, and SMS, enabling users to naturally manage email, calendars, reminders, web searches, and everyday tasks through conversational AI.

Backed by General Catalyst and leading technology founders and investors, the company has raised $27 million and assembled a highly technical team of engineers, designers, and product builders. As one of the earliest design hires, you'll own the user experience across web, mobile, and marketing surfaces while helping define the visual identity of a rapidly growing consumer AI product.

What You Will Do

• Own the end-to-end design experience across the company's consumer AI products and marketing surfaces.
• Design and build polished user experiences from concept to production using Figma and modern frontend technologies.
• Develop customer-facing interfaces including onboarding flows, landing pages, marketing campaigns, product experiences, and growth surfaces.
• Ship production-ready frontend code using React, Next.js, and modern AI-assisted development tools.
• Collaborate closely with engineering to rapidly iterate on product features and user experiences.
• Design intuitive interactions that simplify complex AI workflows into delightful consumer experiences.
• Contribute to branding, motion design, illustrations, and interaction design across web and native applications.
• Prototype, test, and refine new product concepts based on customer feedback and business priorities.
• Help establish design systems, frontend standards, and reusable UI components as the product scales.
• Play a key role in shaping both the visual identity and user experience of a category-defining consumer AI product.

Ideal Background

• 3–5 years of experience as a Design Engineer, Product Designer, or Frontend Engineer with strong design expertise.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual design, product thinking, and attention to detail.
• Experience shipping polished consumer-facing products from concept through production.
• Strong proficiency with Figma or comparable design tools.
• Experience building frontend applications using React and Next.js.
• Ability to write production-quality frontend code rather than only producing visual designs.
• Strong understanding of UX, interaction design, and modern product development workflows.
• Bachelor's degree from a highly regarded university or design program.
• Excellent communication skills with a collaborative, highly iterative working style.

Preferred

• Experience at design-forward companies such as Linear, Raycast, Notion, Stripe, Vercel, Browser Company, or similar organizations.
• Familiarity with SwiftUI and native iOS interface development.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or similar coding assistants.
• Strong motion design, animation, branding, or visual storytelling experience.
• Portfolio showcasing both shipped production products and personal design projects.
• Experience working in high-growth startup environments with significant ownership.
• Passion for consumer products with exceptional design quality and user experience.
• Interest in AI-native applications and designing interfaces for intelligent software.

• Base salary: $150,000.
