This role will support the special service tool engineering group with moderate to complex technical tasks for the design and manufacturing of automotive OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) service tools.
This role is located in Rochester Hills, Michigan.
Responsibilities
Perform moderately technical tasks through the application of engineering principles and practices consistent with candidate's background / experience.
Interface with manufacturing suppliers to track status of quotes and in-process tools.
Review tool inspection reports with 2D drawings.
Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Position is 40 hours per week through the summer
Qualifications
Must be currently enrolled in a degree program from an accredited university pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
Individual must possess good communication and organizational skills
3D and 2D CAD experience is a plus
Familiarity with use of simple engineering tools such as a height gauge, depth gauge, micrometer, and caliper
Experience with automotive OEM service and diagnostic tools is a plus
Hands-on experience with simple to complex automotive repairs is helpful
Must work well in a team environment
