This program was built by our team at Reliance Fire and consists of both virtual and in-person mentoring professional development and a 10-year career path. This position will work on-siteat our Baltimore MD branch.Job DescriptionThis individual will assist in the design and coordination of fire protection systems for various facilities. The candidate will design and create the finished representation for wet and dry sprinkler systems using drawing and drafting skills and tools. Drawings produced will be used as a guide by every other link in the chain of construction both on-site and in the office. The trainee will have close coordination with the project manager and Lead Designer throughout the respective projects.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for initial planning of a project including scheduling of time creating material stock lists analyzing changes and solving problemsLearn how to design various dry and wet fire protection systems following required codesAssist with field surveys of existing buildings and systemsLearn and use design software for 2-D & 3-D drawingsAssist with system calculationsWork with key customers and our designbuild team to prepare conceptual drawings and estimatesProduce shop drawings and as-built drawingsAssist with system and equipment selectionAssemble system specifications and O&M ManualsCommunicate with field personnel to ensure information flowSpecific RequirementsAutoCAD experience preferredConstantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery copierprinter etc.Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50 or more of the timeOpen cube office work environment noise level - quiet to moderateQualificationsSkillsGood planning and problem-solving skillsGood math skillsAble to understand big picture issuesGood communication written verbal interpersonal and analytical skillsProfessional and detail oriented.
