Detailing Project Manager

gpac, a recruiting firm with 30+ years in business, is partnered with a well-established company in the structural steel and metals fabrication industry in the Milwaukee, WI area. Our client is seeking a Detailing / Drafting leader to manage the detailing group and deliver accurate drawings on schedule.

Position Responsibilities:

- Manage in-house detailers and outside detailing partners

- Plan and schedule detailing work to meet project needs

- Maintain drawing quality, standards, and checking processes

- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and the shop

- Manage detailing budgets and resource allocation

Position Essential Job Functions:

- Assign projects and track detailing progress

- Review and check drawings and models

- Resolve RFIs and design conflicts with project teams

- Develop detailing standards, templates, and best practices

- Train and mentor detailers

Position Skills:

- 5+ years of structural steel detailing experience

- Experience leading detailers or managing detailing projects

- Expert in Tekla Structures or SDS2

- Strong knowledge of AISC standards and connection design concepts

- Strong organization and communication skills
