Job Summary
The Development Coordinator supports HCAM’s fundraising, donor engagement, and community partnership efforts that advance the organization’s mission and strategic goals. Working closely with the Vice President of Development and Strategic Partnerships, this role helps execute individual giving campaigns, fundraising events, sponsorship programs, volunteer engagement, and donor stewardship activities.
 
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
The primary responsibilities of this position are:
  • Individual Giving & Donor Engagement
    • Support implementation and growth of HCAM’s individual giving program, including client assistance fund
    • Coordinate donor stewardship, including acknowledgement letters, impact reporting and donor recognition activities
    • Maintain accurate donor records within the CRM
       
  • Fundraising Events and Peer-to-Peer Campaigns
    • Coordinate planning and execution of fundraising events, including annual 5K, donor cultivation events, and organizational milestone celebrations
    • Manage event logistics, timelines, vendor coordination, registrations, and volunteer support
    • Adhere to event timelines and budgets to ensure successful event planning
    • Coordinate and support the volunteer 5K planning committee, including facilitating meetings, tracking action items and helping volunteer members successfully execute event goals
    • Manage event-related peer-to-peer fundraising, including recruiting, engaging, and recognizing individual and team fundraisers
    • Track event fundraising performance and assist with post-event reporting and evaluation
       
  • Corporate Partnerships, Sponsorships, and Volunteer Engagement
    • Coordinate sponsorship benefit fulfillment, ensuring sponsors receive agreed upon recognition, communications, and engagement opportunities
    • Assist with identifying and researching prospective sponsors, donors, and community partners
    • Solicit and coordinate in-kind donations from business partners to support fundraising events, client needs, team wellness initiatives and other organizational priorities
    • Coordinate volunteer engagement activities that support fundraising events and programmatic needs
    • Help maintain positive relationships with community partners, sponsors, and volunteers through ongoing communication and recognition
       
  • Grant Support
    • Assist with research and identification of small grant opportunities aligned with programmatic and organizational priorities
    • Support preparation and submission of grant and corporate giving applications, reports, and supporting documentation
    • Track grant deadlines, reporting requirements, and outcomes
    • Maintain organized grant files and records
       
  • Development Operations and Administration
    • Perform donor CRM management, including gift entry, record updates, fiscal reconciliation, and reporting
    • Generate fundraising reports to support decision-making and monitor progress toward goals
    • Prepare acknowledgement letters, donor lists, meeting materials, and fundraising appeal correspondence
       
  • Agency-Wide Collaboration
    • Partner closely with Marketing Coordinator to provide fundraising content, stories, campaign information and sponsorship recognition details
    • Collaborate with program staff to gather impact information that supports donor engagement and fundraising efforts
    • Represent HCAM professionally with donors, sponsors, volunteers and community stakeholders
    • Participate in events and activities that support HCAM’s mission and visibility
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Experience, Certifications and Licensures:
  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent years of experience. 
  • 2-4 years of nonprofit fundraising, event coordination, customer relations, project coordination or related experience preferred
  • Demonstrated interest in nonprofit development, philanthropy, community engagement and volunteerism

  • Available to travel, and work some evening and weekend work required
Compensation 
In compliance with Maryland's wage transparency requirements, the compensation for this role has been included in the posting.
