JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Intern

DEPARTMENT: Development

REPORTS TO: Sr. VP, Development

SUPERVISES: None

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible and accountable for support of the development staff by performing market studies and other general administrative functions/tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare internal market studies for apartments and self storage.
• Conduct preliminary due diligence as requested.
• Conduct various research projects related to apartment and self storage developments.
• General administrative duties.
• Data entry into financial models.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Basic understanding of Financial Statements
• No prior experience necessary
• Computer Skills – Experience with MS Office
• 0-10% Travel

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Rarely must stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl or bend.
• Rarely must lift 25 – 50 pounds.
• Rarely is exposed to outside weather conditions.
• Occasionally must reach with hands and arms.
• Regularly must sit, use hands to finger/handle/feel, talk and hear.
• Close vision is required.
