As a DevOps engineer within Payments Technology, you will be focusing on delivery of an innovative, highly visible strategic initiative to enable new payments and funding capabilities. Payments has a varied technical stack - core Java for the server-side, Angular/React for the web and DB2 SQL, SQL Server for the database and we expect the team members to have solid understanding of these technologies. We implement a cloud first strategy, therefore experience with Cloud based software development and DevOps within the Azure and AWS platforms would be beneficial. We also use a range of industry leading technologies such as Kafka. Knowledge of these technologies is not necessary - but an enthusiasm and desire to learn new technology and deploy it to solve business problems is a must.

In order to achieve our objectives, we incorporate DevOps and Agile methodologies including Scrum, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery in our development processes. The role will involve interacting with developers, clients in the business, external vendors and other technology teams. The candidates key focus areas will be the following:

• Automate environment deployment and management.

• Build and support pipelines to support the Software Development Lifecycle.

• Develop and configure software that delivers capabilities used for testing automation.

• Ensure that software changes are delivered to production efficiently and that adequate testing has been performed to ensure it meets functional and non-functional requirements.

• Build, deploy and support observability and management toolsets across the platform.

• Learn and understand the business domain and application architecture.

• Embed within functional delivery squads’ team in order to collaborate on projects.

• Take ownership of project and DevOps deliverables.

Measures of success in this role include, but are not limited to, the degree at which:

• Incident occurrence and severity decreases while change velocity increases.

• Team adoption and understanding of testing strategies increases.

The ideal candidate should have: • A passion for DevOps, automation, and a desire to understand the latest evolutions in software and engineering practices.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work closely with business stake holders and global team members.

• 7+ years of relevant professional experience in QA, development, automation.

• Ability to code and maintain both back-end and front-end automation frameworks written in distributed programming languages, such as:

o Java, Python (back-end)

o JavaScript, Selenium (front-end) • Ability to define and automate functional tests using TDD or BDD frameworks, such as: Concordion, JBehave, Cucumber.

• Proficient in traditional RDBMS schema concepts and SQL.

• Practical experience leading teams within an Agile Scrum based global environment.

• Knowledge of source code management tools, such as: GIT, Perforce, and VSS.

• Proficient in continuous integration tools, such as: Jenkins, Maven.
