Location: Herndon, VA (Remote)
Type: Long-Term Contract
Only W2 (No C2C/No Third Party)
Year of Experience: 10+ Years only

Summary
The main function of a DevOps Engineer is to design, develop, implement, test, and maintain business and computer application software or specialized utility programs, including mainframe and client/server applications, as well as major enhancements to existing systems.
Job Responsibilities
- Fine-tune and improve a variety of sophisticated software implementation projects.
- Gather and analyze system requirements, document specifications, and develop software solutions to meet client needs and data requirements.
- Analyze and review enhancement requests and specifications.
- Implement system software and customize it to meet client requirements.
- Prepare detailed software specifications and test plans.
- Code new programs according to client specifications and create test data for testing.
- Modify existing programs to meet new standards and conduct unit testing of developed programs.
- Create migration packages for system testing, user testing, and implementation.
- Perform quality assurance reviews.
- Conduct post-implementation validation of software and resolve bugs identified during testing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is required.
- 10 years of experience required.
- Ariba Procurement knowledge is a must-have.
- Solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
- Experience in large-scale systems software design and development.
- Experience performing in-depth troubleshooting and unit testing with both new and legacy production systems.
- Programming experience, including problem diagnosis and resolution.
