    The Opportunity

We are seeking a cleared DevOps Engineer to join our mission-focused team supporting complex deployments. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), advanced networking, and hands-on proficiency with Puppet, Ansible, and CI/CD. In this role, you will install, configure, and troubleshoot both test and production environments, while identifying opportunities to enhance and modernize our primarily Puppet-based deployment pipelines. This is a hands-on, high-impact engineering role where your contributions directly influence our delivery capabilities. Candidates should thrive in fast-paced environments and balance operational reliability with automation, security, and scalability.

    Responsibilities

    • Install, configure, and maintain RHEL-based environments to support operational deployments
    • Develop and maintain automation and configuration management solutions using Puppet and Ansible
    • Support Tier 3/4 escalations, performing deep-dive troubleshooting across infrastructure and application layers
    • Improve deployment processes and reduce manual interventions through scripting and tool integration
    • Collaborate with software developers, infrastructure teams, and cybersecurity engineers to deliver secure, scalable systems
    • Document installation procedures, troubleshooting guides, and deployment workflows
    • Assist with maintaining CI/CD pipelines and monitoring solutions to ensure production reliability
    • Implement security features and address newly identified vulnerabilities and best practices

    Qualifications Required

    • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
    • Ability to meet DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification requirements (e.g., Security+ CE) within 45 days of hire
    • Extensive experience administering and troubleshooting RHEL systems, including networking (routing, VLANs, DNS, DHCP)
    • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience
    • Proficiency with Puppet and Ansible for configuration management and automation
    • Understanding of Agile development practices, DevOps methodologies, and secure software delivery principles
    • Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or similar)
    • Familiarity with version control and CI/CD tools (Git, GitLab, Jenkins)
    • Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python)
    • Excellent troubleshooting skills across OS, network, and application layers

    Desired

    • An active Top Secret with SCI clearance
    • Experience with AWS and cloud architecture principles
    •  Familiarity with Helm charts and Kubernetes deployments; willingness to stand up and maintain Kubernetes clusters
    • Experience working in environments governed by STIGs, NIST 800-171, or similar security baselines
