High school diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred.
College degree, in the process of achieving a degree, or equivalent work experience.
Experience in a medical environment and some knowledge of procedures and diagnostic tests involved in examinations.
Knowledge of internal control practices and procedures.
Willing to participate in continuing education in the medical field for the duration of employment.

Responsibilities/ Essential Job Functions include but are not limited to:

Perform accurate and consistent documentation.
Perform diagnostic testing.
Examines eye for abnormalities of cornea, pupil and anterior chamber.
May applies drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes.
Measures intraocular pressure of eyes (glaucoma test).
Performs other tests and measurements as requested by Ophthalmologist/Optometrist.
Additional technical training will be provided
Maintain a smooth flow of patients to the physician, altering the test sequence as required.
Communicate with ophthalmic assistants and/or patient services staff to facilitate proper patient flow.
