Diesel Heavy Equipment Technician/Mechanic

Rare opportunity to join an awesome team in Garner, NC Diesel Heavy Equipment Technician. This role will diagnose, service, and repair Vermeer and related construction equipment in the shop. Compensation & Schedule
- $30–$35/hour (based on experience)
- Production bonuses available
- Sign-on bonus up to $5,000 (for qualified candidates)

Responsibilities
- Service, repair, and recondition Vermeer equipment as directed by the Branch Service Manager
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions; hydraulic and electrical experience required
- Recognize and recommend appropriate repairs to the Service Manager
- Perform effective welding as needed
- Create accurate repair estimates within work orders
- Maintain detailed repair records in CDK Global
- Communicate with OEM/factory for technical assistance
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 5+ years of strong mechanical aptitude with hydraulic, electrical, and hydrostatic diagnostic capability
- Proficiency with repair documentation (CDK experience preferred)
- Welding ability and safe work practices
- Detail-oriented, organized, and team-focused
Physical Demands
- Regular talking/hearing; frequent standing, walking, reaching, and hands-on work
- Lift, carry, and move materials up to 50 lbs frequently and 80+ lbs occasionally
