Producers Dairy Foods, a leading supplier and distributor of high-quality award-winning dairy products, is looking for a dedicated Diesel Mechanic to join our winning team out of Fairfield, CA. This opportunity is Sunday through Thursday; 12pm to 8:30pm. The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for performing routine maintenance, major overhauls and performing extensive troubleshooting on heavy equipment. This person must be self-driven, an excellent troubleshooter and current on new technology and regulations. The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for demonstrating the Producers Dairy Core Values and carrying out our purpose of Nourishing Lives. - Approaching work with a Continuous Improvement (CI) mindset, and engaging in Producers Dairy Mission Statement to identify, value, prioritize, resource and sustain improvement opportunities.
- Owning and promoting a Safety Culture by ensuring a safe work environment and promoting proper safety behavior.
- Approach work with a Continuous Improvement (CI) mindset and serving as an example of living our Producers Dairy purpose and core values.
- Conducting activities in a safe manner, following company safety guidelines and requirements and proactively addresses any unsafe conditions observed.
- Determine nature of needed repairs for company tractors and trailers through accurate troubleshooting.
- Work with the garage manager to properly prioritize work and complete within appropriate timelines.
- Adjust valves according to specifications and charge system with proper type of refrigerant by pumping the specified gas or fluid into the system.
- Test lines, components, and connections for leaks.
- Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed
- Repairing and Maintaining Mechanical Equipment — Servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of mechanical principles.
- Makes safety a top priority – properly manages time and prepares for jobs so as to work in a safe manner. Asks for help when needed.
- Maintain appropriate dress, hygiene and personal appearance standards so as to represent the department and the Company in a positive and professional manner.

Skills/Qualifications: - High school diploma/GED
- Demonstrated organization and accuracy skills; self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple projects/tasks with competing deadlines. Must demonstrate the ability to solve problems, accept constructive feedback and show flexibility should priorities and/or deadlines change.
- Excellent verbal and written skills and a high degree of emotional intelligence. Must be able to build productive relationships across all levels of an organization.
- Experience using Thermal King
