Diesel Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on diesel-powered trucks, heavy equipment, and fleet vehicles. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and capable of troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical issues.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, drivetrains, and hydraulic systems
• Perform preventative maintenance services and inspections
• Troubleshoot electrical, fuel, air, and brake systems
• Complete repairs on suspension, steering, cooling, and exhaust systems
• Utilize diagnostic software and scan tools to identify issues
• Maintain accurate service and repair documentation
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company standards
• Assist with emergency repairs to minimize equipment downtime
• Maintain a clean and organized work area

Qualifications

• Previous diesel mechanic experience required
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Experience working with diesel engines and heavy equipment
• Ability to read service manuals, schematics, and repair documentation
• Familiarity with computerized diagnostic equipment
• Own tools preferred
• Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and work in a shop environment

Pay

Up to $45.00 per hour (based on experience)
