A growing transportation and fleet operation in Cumberland, MD is actively seeking an experienced Heavy -Duty Diesel Mechanic to join their maintenance team. This position is ideal for a technician who takes pride in quality workmanship, values safety, and enjoys troubleshooting and repairing heavy -duty diesel equipment in a fast -paced shop environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of diesel trucks and trailers to ensure maximum uptime and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
<\/h2>- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, brakes, suspensions, transmissions, and other truck and trailer components
<\/li> - Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service inspections
<\/li> - Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic software and tools
<\/li> - Complete DOT inspections and ensure equipment remains compliant with safety regulations
<\/li> - Accurately document repairs, parts usage, and maintenance records
<\/li> - Inspect equipment to identify potential failures or safety concerns
<\/li> - Work collaboratively with the maintenance team and communicate repair updates effectively
<\/li> - Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
<\/li><\/ul>Qualifications
<\/h2>- Previous experience working as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician
<\/li> - Strong understanding of diesel engine systems and heavy -duty truck repair
<\/li> - Experience using diagnostic software and troubleshooting electrical systems
<\/li> - Ability to read service manuals, schematics, and technical documentation
<\/li> - Strong mechanical aptitude and problem -solving skills
<\/li> - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
<\/li> - Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
