Description
Diesel Mechanic - Petroleum Transport Fleet
Meffert Oil Company is seeking an experienced, dependable Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of petroleum transport trucks, trailers, and related equipment to ensure they operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all DOT regulations.

Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance on diesel trucks and petroleum transport trailers.
Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, steering systems, and electrical components.
Inspect and maintain trailer equipment, including pumps, meters, hoses, valves, and loading/unloading systems.
Perform DOT inspections and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and air brake systems.
Complete work orders and maintenance records accurately.
Coordinate with drivers and management to prioritize repairs and minimize equipment downtime.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a diesel mechanic (CDL fleet or heavy truck experience preferred).
Knowledge of diesel engines, truck and trailer maintenance, and DOT requirements.
Experience with diagnostics and electrical troubleshooting.
Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
CDL and HAZMAT required.
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
