Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Digital Accessibility Tester to join the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services (CT DAS). This is a testing-focused role, where manual accessibility testing of digital products and assets is the primary responsibility. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in WCAG compliance, Section 508 standards, assistive technologies, and accessibility testing methodologies to ensure digital products are inclusive and compliant.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Web Development, Human Computer Interaction, Library & Information Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in Digital Accessibility Testing.
  • 2+ years of experience working on digital product teams in accessibility, QA, or related roles.
  • Strong expertise in manual accessibility testing using assistive technologies including:
    • NVDA
    • JAWS
    • Dragon NaturallySpeaking
    • Fusion
    • ZoomText
    • VoiceOver
    • TalkBack
    • Deque
    • WAVE
  • Experience using built-in accessibility features such as:
    • Speech-to-Text
    • Text-to-Speech
    • Screen Magnifiers
    • On-Screen Keyboards
    • Eye Gaze Technology
    • Alternative Input Devices
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • WCAG 2.1/2.2 Guidelines
    • Section 508 Compliance

Key Responsibilities
